Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Q.U.A.K.E back to the label for their first solo EP entitled 'The Future'. Hailing from Israel, Netanel Assaraf and Yakir Ohayon aka Q.U.A.K.E have been a fixture of the electronic underground for over a decade. Laying claim to an impressive resume, the duo have showcased their dancefloor minded sound via Freegrant Music, Timeless Moment and Miss Monique's Siona Records. Movement Recordings has also served as a landing spot for the talented pair, with an EP and remix coming courtesy for the Greek imprint across 2020. Continuing their ascent in the world of melodic house and techno, Q.U.A.K.E now returns to Movement with a two-track showcase alongside a remix from Paul Anthonee.

The release begins with the dark electric vibes of 'The Future'. Buoyant and chunky, it carries a groovy yet menacing quality from the outset. Gaining momentum across the first act, the piece moves through a series of striking stabs, alien-like effects and cosmic arps, as placid pads push energy into the main break. The emotional narrative expands across the centrepiece with gentle overlays playing off flickering arps, before a tension filled build cues a stomping drop and peak-time flavoured finale. The companion piece 'Woodpecker' follows a similar sonic ethos and resonates on an equally impressive level. Remarkably powerful, its muscular groove commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while devilish stabs and fragmented effects add further colour to the framework. Wispy arps rise into the main break, eventually melting down to a celestial glow, perfectly elevating mood and setting the stage for a dynamic final act.

The lone interpretation of 'The Future' is provided by Paul Anthonee who returns to the label for his ninth appearance. The Cyprus based producer and Astral Records AandR has found a comfortable home on Movement since making his debut in 2017. Beatfreak Recordings, Lost On You, Parquet, Steyoyoke and Suara have also played host to Paul's cutting-edge sounds, while trendsetters such as Fideles and Mind Against continue to be supporters. Now presenting his first production of 2022, Paul delivers a powerful take on 'The Future'. Beginning with tough beats and striking electronics, it's the wavy nature of the groove which becomes instantly compelling. Billowing and full of great character, it anchors what is a cosmic slice of melodic house. Paul reaffirms his instinctive ability to tip a dancefloor over the edge, planting multiple explosions of serotonin through spectral synths and flurries of drums, full of electric detail and prophetic appeal, before confidently returning to the groove for a sweeping aerial finale. A huge interpretation from Paul, which rounds out a welcome return to the label for Q.U.A.K.E, who impresses once again with 'The Future'.
