Astral Records closes out a successful second year by welcoming Deciduous back to the label for a new EP. Based in Ireland, the Deciduous production duo was conceptualized in 2017 with a mission to bring their synth-laden progressive tracks to the dance floor. Two years spent perfecting their craft eventually led to 2019 releases via 3rd Avenue, Awen Records and Parquet Recordings. Their elusive brand of melodic house and techno also highlighted the Astral Records catalog in 2021 with the June release of 'Other World', a three-track showcase which earned support from Armen Miran, John OO Fleming and Mind Against. Now, following a release for Solee's Future Romance, Deciduous returns to Astral with the much anticipated 'Planet 9'.

Beginning with the title selection Deciduous crafts a dramatic yet emotive piece aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Rolling beats provide a DJ friendly intro as exotic drums and cosmic effects encase the framework. Catchy chord stabs and hopeful atmospheres add drive and depth leading into the main break, where a crunchy lead theme sparks a thunderous drop and charged finale.

Meanwhile, on 'Second Sun' Deciduous continues to explore the peak time narratives for which they have become known. A tough, driving groove sits at the foundation, while prophetic designs and striking stabs add bounce and drive. Looking to bring greater colour, cosmic arps rise across a short but impactful break, ultimately paving the way for an emotional interlude. Cinematic swells and fuzzy chord stabs highlight the mean break, providing a perfect combination of tension and exhilaration, pushing onwards to a thumping finale.
