Opening the month of February, Astral Records presents a new EP from Q.U.A.K.E and Martin Magal. Netanel Assaraf aka Q.U.A.K.E have been a fixture of the electronic underground for over a decade. Operating at the heart of the melodic house and techno movement, he has amassed an impressive resume, with standout projects via Freegrant Music, Timeless Moment and Miss Monique's Siona Records. Astral Records and affiliate Movement Recordings have also been landing spots for his elusive sound, with four discography credits spread across the last two years. Meanwhile, newcomer Martin Magal emerged just nine short months ago with a release via Area Verde. Immediately recognized for his infectious dancefloor sound, the Israeli artist quickly found a home on Panda Lab Records, Perspectives Digital and Timeless Moment. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Q.U.A.K.E and Martin Magal land on Astral Records with their debut collaboration 'Desire for Life'.

Title track 'Desire for Life' finds Q.U.A.K.E and Martin Magal masterfully synthesizing their talents into one dancefloor rocking vision. Remarkably powerful, its driving groove commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while squelchy chord stabs and cosmic arps add further colour leading into the main break. Adding an emotive slant to the narrative, the interlude melts down to a warm atmospheric glow, as sci-fi vocal fragments and trance-inspired melodies ring out in timeless suspension, onwards to an epic finale.

The companion piece 'Inside the Mind' finds Q.U.A.K.E operating in solo capacity with a deeper, more atmospheric creation. Striking tones and fuzzed out stabs descend over an acid-laced groove while prophetic vocal samples steal the air. Coming to full fruition across the break, the vocal narrative takes centrestage, peaking anticipation as a vortex of effects and drums spearheads a thunderous drop and suitably astral-inspired final act.
